A new design overhauling a Los Angeles park has been hailed by some as finally bringing a downtown green space to the city of Hollywood actors, bling and hybrid cars.
Civic Park is a 12-acre, Rios Clementi Hale-designed park connecting City Hall with the LA Music Centre. The latest designs will overhaul and lengthen the existing park’s fountain, as well asremove a series of trellises and enlarge the park’s community terrace.
Costing a pretty US$56 ($84.7) million, the first phase of the new design includes a new set of grand stairs.
Online site Los Angeles Curbed reported “downtowner leaders” claiming the new look was “radically designed for the better”.
