Chris Vogel, a graphic designer and art director from Kansas City, was recently chosen as the first winner of the Project Never design competition.
Vogel's design for an experimental candy store was chosen for its treatments and illustrations that convey a sophisticated, yet playful candy store environment.
"The visuals are fun, wacky and engaging, perfect for the target market," said Jacob Cass, Project Never judge and creator of Just Creative Design, a graphic design firm based in Australia, specializing in web site and logo development.
"The end product would have been quite successful if implemented."
"The whole strategy has clearly been well thought out."
"The design is complex enough in texture and color, but still simple enough in execution to appeal to the masses," said Kelley Shaw-Wade, Project Never judge and co-founder of Pinkergeen, a Boston, MA-based branding and design firm.
"I love the type treatment and illustrations Chris used to tie the different elements together."
"The concept is sugary, sophisticated and fun."
