Studio Output has created the graphics for the BBC Blast's 2009 tour, working with brand guidelines created by Fallon.
Blast is the BBC's network for creative teenagers, and the Blast tour travels around the UK, offering young people free creative workshops in art and design, dance, drama, film and fashion.
Studio Output was appointed to create the tour graphics following an on-roster pitch just before Christmas, according to designer Becky Johnson, who worked on the project. Johnson says, "We wanted to bring movement to the 2D graphics."
"The branding had always been in black and white - the idea was that the colour would be provided by the children's photographs and works - but for the tour we needed to add some colour, so we took a secondary colour palette that Fallon created for the website and adapted that."
"We worked around the logo and straplines that Fallon created, as well as the hatched lines, which run throughout the graphics," she adds.
Mark Elwood, creative director of Fallon, says the group created Blast's brand strategy and brand toolkit, as well as animations, on which Studio Output based the graphics.
