Peter Fischli and David Weiss have worked together since 1979. Their collaboration branches into the realms of film, photography, sculpture and multimedia installations.
Their work is rooted in the use of humour and irony, creating films based on an approach to the world devoid of artificial and dramatic effects.
The exhibit that the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía dedicates to this artistic duo will be held in two different venues belonging to the museum: the museum’s headquarters will project fragments of the Bear and Rat video series, which star the artists dressed in bear and rat costumes, while the Palacio de Cristal (Crystal Palace) will host an installation related to the films and consisting of several puppets of the characters themselves, set to the tune of music composed specifically for the exhibition.
