May 2009
The Good 50x70 Jury has finished its deliberations and selected the 210 best responses to this year's Call for Entries. This year the judging was harder than ever due to the vast number of entries received (4210), while all the judges agreed the standard of entries was significantly higher than previous years.
The shortlisted posters are available in the Gallery on the Good 50x70 website. Congratulations to all the creators of the shortlisted posters, and thank you to everyone for entering. All posters become part of the Good 50x70 database, whether they have been shortlisted or not, and are available for use by any charity that wishes. And that's the real point of Good 50x70.
Now that the 210 shortlisted posters from this year's contest have been announced, the organisers are launching the next cycle of Good 50x70's exhibitions in 2009. The first exhibition will be held, as is now traditional, at La Triennale Gallery in Milan. The exhibition opens on 19 June and runs through 12 July.
The exhibition will be preceded by a set of very special workshops led by three of Good 50x70's jury members: Alain Le Quernec, Woody Pirtle and Yossi Lemel. The workshops, in line with Good 50x70's philosophy, aim to broaden designers and design students' perspective on design and visual communication by using their creativity to address social issues.
The workshops will all take place at Milanese schools IED, NABA and Accademia di Comunicazione, in the mornings of the 15-17 June 2009.
