Clear Channel: Carling Campaign Launches On Hammersmith Tower
PRESS RELEASE

May 2009

Molson Coors, the brewing company, has become the first client to advertise on Clear Channel Outdoor UK’s stunning new Hammersmith Tower.

This new architect-designed mega structure which can be viewed from the Hammersmith Flyover displays two Mega 6 advertisements for Molson Coors’ Carling brand, targeting inbound and outbound traffic on this key route from Heathrow into Central London.

With more than 4 million fortnightly impacts, the patinated brass-clad, 33-metre tower provides visual stand-out for brands alongside exceptional reach from very high traffic volumes. The Hammersmith Tower has also been fitted with Clear Channel Outdoor’s pioneering LED ‘halo’ technology, which can be programmed to complement the creative.

Martin Coyle, Brand Director of Carling said, “Carling, the UK’s number one beer brand, has a long and successful track record of leading in the area of media innovation. This runs across all media from the phenomenally successful ipint application we developed for the iphone to being the first to advertise on new outdoor megastructures such as the Hammersmith Tower.”

Rachel Howe, Account Director at out-of-home communications agency Kinetic, who booked the campaign said, “It will be great to see Carling on such a high-impact new location as it is fantastic exposure for the brand.”

The Hammersmith Tower is Clear Channel Outdoor’s fourth iconic tower location in London joining the M4 Tower, the Westway Tower and the North London Tower in the company’s Pinnacle division–the number one collection of premium outdoor sites in the UK, including Piccadilly Lite, a digital LED roadside network in London and Cromwell Road backlit 96-sheets.
