The Delaware Art Museum is pleased to be one of the venues for the Taiwan Film Festival, presented by Hanlin Chinese Cultural Association. This festival features rarely seen masterpieces of Taiwan cinema as well as recent documentaries and short films.
For the Festival, featured films will include:
‘Taiwan’s Golden Treasure,’ a documentary that introduces the history of Taiwanese tea and its manufacturing process. Directed by Yu-Kong-Wei, this short film has won numerous international film festival awards in 2001, such as the 34th Worldfest – Houston International Film Festival, Arts/Culture, Gold Special Jury Award.
‘Let It Be,’ a full length documentary recording the everyday life of three elderly rice farmers and their families in the heart of Taiwan rice-producing country.
‘Family Viewing,’ a 30-minute portrayal of how a Taiwanese family eventually uses the camera to deliver their version of life as they participate in a reality program set up by a French TV crew. This short feature film is directed by Cheng-Chui Kuo, a Taiwanese in Paris. He works in French TV and film industry and his play ‘A Room to Rent’ was produced in Paris in 2006.
