Designer Pages Launches A+D Twitter Campaign At NeoCon
PRESS RELEASE

June 2009

Designer Pages will collaborate with MMPI to become the official social media sponsor of NeoCon World's Trade Fair 2009.

Inspired by the increasingly popularity and broad reach of micro-blogging and the unique influence of real-time conversation, Designer Pages identified an opportunity to stream show content live, in real-time all day, every day directly from the NeoCon show floor.

Attending bloggers and trade professionals at this year's NeoCon can capture and share activities and events happening at the show via Twitter under the hashtag #NeoCon09.

Simultaneously, Designer Pages and MMPI will also stream event updates under the @NeoConChicago Twitter handle, which will be publicly displayed on large flat screens located throughout The Merchandise Mart.

"The A+D industry continues to suffer from a lack of effective communication vehicles," said Designer Pages co-founder and CEO Jacob Slevin.

"Given that the Designer Pages online product catalog was conceived with the goal of simplifying and promoting the ability to share information, the evolution of this campaign was a natural one for us. The concept of this Twitter campaign is an extension of our business model, and our commitment to encourage collaboration and community about up to the minute trends and product offerings for the A+D industry."

Motivated by the power of social media to encourage A+D bloggers, general event attendees, exhibitors and others to talk about and share what they see at NeoCon, Designer Pages has enlisted the help of ‘Citizen Bloggers‘ to populate the #NeoCon09 Twitter hashtag with real-time show details.

These ‘Citizen Bloggers’–a group of carefully vetted social media-savvy design enthusiasts–will canvas NeoCon, tweeting about products, taking pictures and even capturing interviews with suppliers and designers.

Numerous television screens located throughout the show floor and in Designer Pages' headquarter and satellite booths will display the Twitter feed so that attendees never miss breaking news from the show.

Well-known industry blogs such as Archinect are participating in the social media campaign by embedding widgets with an RSS feed of the live conversation stream in order to drive additional awareness of NeoCon, its exhibitors and the power of social media.

To join the conversation, follow @NeoConChicago and @DesignerPages on Twitter and provide your thoughts from the show with the official event hashtag #NeoCon09.
