Hollister Creative, a Philadelphia area custom publishing firm, has won four awards in the 18th annual National Mature Media Awards competition. Two were general excellence awards for full issues of Milestones, a monthly newspaper Hollister produces on behalf of Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA). The other two were for articles that appeared in Milestones.
Milestones is now read by more than 180,000 mature Philadelphians. The publication delivers “News and Possibilities for Seniors” written by seniors under the direction of Hollister Creative editor Don Harrison, a 60-year veteran of Philadelphia newspapers. Hollister also provides art direction, photography and graphic design services for Milestones. PCA has been a Hollister client since 2001.
Hollister received Merit Awards for general excellence for the May 2008 and December 2008 issues of Milestones. Hollister received Silver Awards in writing for two feature articles, both written by Joe Clark, a retired Philadelphia Daily News reporter, feature writer and columnist.
Hollister has won National Mature Media Awards for Milestones every year since 2003. This year’s National Mature Media Award recipients were chosen from nearly 900 entries. The competition is presented by the Illinois-based Mature Market Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for the senior market.
