The Olympus PEN camera heralds the creation of an exciting new sector in the photography market, combining, as it does, the photographic optics of an SLR with the size and simplicity of a point and shoot. This technology was first developed by Olympus back in 1959, and now, 50 years on, it’s back.
Team Saatchi will be responsible for establishing the new, "remastered" Olympus PEN camera as the ultimate in style and substance for people who love photography. With a planned media spend of £2 million, the campaign will be fully integrated, covering TV, print and online work and will launch mid-November this year.
“This is a fantastic new business win for us and we are thrilled to be working with such an iconic brand on a new product that unites a real sense of history with outstanding technology,” says Sophie Hooper, Managing Director, Team Saatchi.
Mark Thackara, National Marketing Manager at Olympus said, “We are delighted to be working with Team Saatchi. This category will be huge and we needed a stand out idea to launch it to the consumer market place. This is not just a TV spot, it is an attitude, a statement of intent.”
