The INDEX:Award 2009 has received over 700 initial entries and now the winners producing their life-improving ideas, will be presented a total of 500,000 euros at the INDEX:Design To Imrpove Life Exhibition opening in Singapore.
Singapore is the first INDEX:Partner City to present the month-long exhibition. This is also the first time the exhibition will travel internationally, following its premiere in Copenhagen, Denmark in August. This exhibition is also a key presentation within the Singapore Design Festival 2009 running in concurrency.
There will be a total of 69 finalists this year, selected from more than 700 entries. In the spirit of Design To Improve Life, they address diverse issues such as water shortage, carbon emissions, environmental sustainability as well as health and safety at work.
