Peter Buchan brings to Baltic a wealth of business expertise gathered throughout his immensely successful architectural career. He became a director of Newcastle based Ryder Architecture in 1984 and currently in his role as Chief Executive, has recently overseen the highly acclaimed and impressive rebuilding of Newcastle City Library.
At Ryder, Buchan has particular responsibility for design excellence and business development, shaping and evolving the core values and ethos of the company. It was this expertise which impressed both his fellow Baltic Board members and major funders when he took the reigns as Baltic’s Acting Chairman as Sir Ian’s tenure came to an end in July this year.
