ADC Designism, now in it’s fourth year, was conceived by Brian Collins, chairman, chief creative officer, COLLINS:, New York and an ADC Officer, to explore how designers and creatives can drive social, political and ecological change through their daily work.
ADC Designism 4.0 honors Blake Mycoskie, chief shoe giver, TOMS Shoes, which matches every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. The company has given more than 140,000 pairs of shoes to children in need through its One for One model, and plans to give more than 300,000 pairs of shoes to children around the world this year.
Other speakers at the event will include Bill Drenttel, partner, Winterhouse Studio and Design Observer; Paula Scher, partner, Pentagram and 1998 inductee in the ADC Hall of Fame, and Mark Randall, principal, Worldstudio. The evening will be moderated by Helen Walters, editor of Innovation and Design at BusinessWeek and contributing editor at Creative Review.
