DDB Asia Pacific has appointed a new CEO to head up DDB Korea. Tae-Yong (Ted) Kim will be responsible for building the agency's client base, focussing on Korean-based clients and growing DDB Korea's multinational business. Ted has also been charged with integrating the newly revamped Tribal DDB, RAPP and DDB Health brands to reinforce the agency's cohesive marketing communications capabilities, which clients have come to expect from DDB. Replacing KH Han, Ted's appointment will be effective from December 1, 2009.

John Zeigler, Chairman and CEO of DDB Group Asia Pacific, Japan and India said, "Ted represents a new era for DDB in Korea. His credentials are impressive, having worked with many local and global agencies, and I believe his experience will help us pursue new brands and increase our client portfolio substantially."

Ted's extensive marketing communications experience comes from having worked at agencies such as Innocean Worldwide and Phoenix Communications, two of the country's leading advertising agencies, as well as BBDO Korea.

Prior to his appointment, Ted was Executive Director of the Account and Marketing divisions of Innocean Worldwide. His clients included KT (SHOW), SKY (mobile phone), Hyundai Card/Capital, Shinhan Bank, HIcar Direct (Insurance), Kwangdong (Pharmaceutical Company) and Hyundai Heavy Industry. He has also worked on global brands including: Nestle (Choice coffee), Samsung Electronics (Zipel), Domino's Pizza and Outback Steak House.

Ted will be supported by a strong management team, which includes Chief Operations and Finance Officer Kevin Koh and SVP Les Edwards.
