Extreme Reach Establishes First Pure-Digital Delivery Network For HD TV Ads
Extreme Reach, a leading provider of digital video advertising solutions, has established the nation's first pure-digital HD advertising distribution network of TV stations, cable broadcasters and networks. The Extreme Reach digital ad network includes thousands of TV and cable broadcasters nationwide with 650 of them enabled to digitally receive, and automate the management of, high definition TV commercials.

The company has worked with hundreds of ad agencies and broadcasters over the last twelve months to develop a new ad delivery model that resolves several industry workflow complications. The term "pure-digital" refers to a new on-demand ad delivery model that maintains a purely digital workflow from start to finish. The new model ensures that HD ad content consistently meets the highest broadcast quality standards and eliminates manual steps and tape transfers beginning all the way upstream at the commercial production facility, and continuing throughout the ad distribution process, to the moment the HD commercial airs.

The pure-digital ad delivery model eliminates order-processing delays and several fees related to ancillary HD tape, conversions and courier services that have become commonplace in the industry. The new model begins with a direct digital connection to industry-standard video editing systems at commercial post-production houses. Once the ad file is digitally uploaded to Extreme Reach, the system automatically runs quality checks on twenty-two video and audio parameters, and addresses flagged issues before electronically delivering the ad to broadcast destinations.
At the delivery end of the chain, the pure-digital model enables broadcasters to electronically receive quality-consistent HD advertisements that conform to each station's exact format specifications. By providing direct integration with the most widely used broadcast systems, Extreme Reach takes the new model an additional step further by enabling the automated movement of the delivered commercials to the broadcaster's on-air servers.

Early hardware-based ad distribution systems often require satellite receivers and proprietary catch-servers that receive broadcast ads in a generic digital file format. That combination introduces manual file conversion, adjustment, and transfer steps that must be handled by engineers at broadcast facilities. Extreme Reach's advanced software solution provides an alternative that eliminates those workflow complications. The new pure-digital model has sparked rapid adoption of the Extreme Reach solution among thousands of broadcasters, and in turn provides advertisers with the industry's widest reach across broadcasters who can digitally receive and seamlessly manage quality-consistent SD and HD ad files.
