The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is moving over 2,300 roles from London and Manchester to MediaCityUK at Salford Quays by 2011. Some of the larger departments in the move include Sport, Children’s, Radio 5live and Learning. The aim of this move is to shift the BBC’s centre of gravity away from London and better reflect and represent the whole of the UK.
The call to design here is for a Phone Chair and Fabric for wall covering, screening or curtaining. The Phone Chair will be manufactured by Yorkshire-based furniture manufacturer, naughtone. The Fabric will be manufactured by Yorkshire-based textile manufacturer, Camira.
Entries are only open to students (full or part time) enrolled in an undergraduate degree course at the specified universities in the competition details.
