The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is calling for entries to its 2010 Natural Talent Design competition which provides applied learning experience in the principles of integrated design, sustainability and innovation.
In partnership with the Salvation Army’s EnviReview Initiative, this competition will focus on rebuilding efforts in New Orleans, Louisiana, tasking participants to the challenge of building a LEED for Homes project that is affordably priced and functional for the elderly.
Up to four designs will be selected from the finals for showcasing at Greenbuild 2010 event and for the first time, participants will see their projects built in New Orleans’ Broadmoor neighborhood.
The installed projects will then enter a measurement and verification phase, graded on energy efficiency, water reuse and indoor air quality among other categories. The one that scores top marks will then take home the grand prize.
