For the second year in a row, OMD was named AdWeek’s “Global Media Agency Of The Year; OMD also was recognized as “Media Agency Of The Year” by Advertising Age, while DDB Worldwide won “Global Agency Network Of The Year” from Campaign magazine and LatinWorks was named “Multicultural Agency Of The Year” by Advertising Age, which also named Alma DDB to the A-List. And at Media's Asia-Pacific Agency of the Year Awards, PHD won “Media Agency Of The Year” and Tribal DDB took home “Digital Agency Of The Year.”
Moreover, Creativity's “Honor Roll” of just five agencies included two Omnicom shops, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and DDB Stockholm, which was named “Global Standout” by Creativity as well. Both Brazil's Almap BBDO and DDB New Zealand were runners-up for Advertising Age's “International Agency Of The Year,” while BBDO's Juniper Park in Toronto was named to the “Next In Line” list by Advertising Age.
In The Big Won, Omnicom was ranked as the top performing holding company, with BBDO Worldwide and DDB the Nos. 1 and 2 leading networks, respectively. In addition Omnicom agencies topped The Big Won's direct marketing agencies ranking, capturing the Nos. 1 and 3 spots.
Omnicom agencies also were widely recognized for their work over the last decade, with BBDO Worldwide, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and TBWA Worldwide named “Agencies Of The Decade” by Advertising Age and TBWA's "Get a Mac" named “Campaign Of The Decade” by Adweek.
The wins capped a year of much recognition in terms of both creativity and effectiveness for Omnicom Group companies, which also led at the International Advertising Festival at Cannes, in the Gunn Report, at the Festival of Media Awards in Valencia and at the EFFIES.
