Final Deadline: 12 April 2010
Tight budgets. Challenging messages. Lots of other news clamoring for attention. Business communication is not for the faint of heart—but when it is done right, it can have a measurable, positive impact on a business and its stakeholders. And that is why the Chicago chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC/Chicago) is calling for entries to the 2010 IABC/Chicago Bronze Quill Awards competition.
The Bronze Quill Awards recognize communications professionals for their excellence in developing and executing business communication programs. Winning entries feature clear objectives supporting the organization's goals, creative communication strategies and effective, measurable results. Previous winners represented companies small and large, including McDonald's, Motorola, Sprint, Boeing, Allstate, Accenture and Aon Consulting.
"A Bronze Quill Award offers proof that an outstanding communication program or project has helped an employer succeed," said Ken Groh, director of awards for IABC/Chicago and principal of Groh & Associates.
"Award-winning entries have been judged to be superior by seasoned IABC members from other chapters, based on rigorous standards set by the leading global business communications professional organization. Bronze Quill winners are truly best in class."
The IABC/Chicago Bronze Quill Awards competition is open to all Chicago-area business communicators who completed a significant communication project in 2009 that embodies excellence in three categories: communication management (projects, programs, and campaigns guided by a communication strategy), communication skills (communication that demonstrates skills such as writing, editing and design), and communication creative (projects that showcase creative talent and design that also perform communication functions). Entrants do not need to be members of IABC.
