The center, located on the Sony Studios lot in Culver City, provides high-quality compression and authoring services for the digitization of film and television content for the DVD and Blu-ray marketplace.

The Digital Authoring Center is a component of Sony Pictures Studios industry-leading post production services and facilities, including sound editorial, stock footage, visual effects, restoration and more. Colorworks, the studio's new digital intermediate (DI) facility, which opened last fall, serves Sony Pictures’ and other clients’ projects including those in 3D and recently completed the first Blu-ray 3D release from Sony Pictures, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” which is currently being authored at the Digital Authoring Center.
