"As of today, the Shift site (shiftype.com) is launching with a new format which syncs its design to that of our LiveSurface Image Library (livesurface.com)," said Shift‚s founder, Joshua Distler.
The re-releases include:
+ Alien: Hidden, a visual experiment based on a 3x3 dot matrix.
+ BetaSans and BetaSemi, a sans serif and a semi serif which are geometric in nature, but work well in both text and display situations.
+ NucleusOne, compiled and original industrial symbols: representing everything from insecticide to torque converter.
+ NucleusTwo, future-tech icons and symbols: representing everything from clone to virtual reality.
+ Post Mono, a monospaced face which is drawn using only straight lines and is available in five weights.
+ Post Extras, a set of symbols, arrows, and abstract icons that are drawn using the same structure as the Post Mono family.
+ Voxel, an exercise in the conversion of spoken language to written form which includes 36 audio sample files.
The Shift display/text re-releases include the Euro symbol and extended accent sets. All the re-releases, including the icon sets, offer improved Postscript compatibility under OS X and are available in Type 1 Postscript format for Mac. PC TrueType versions of BetaSans and BetaSemi are available today with more coming soon. Prices range from $30 to $85.
Shift continues to innovate with the introduction of the LiveSurface Image Library.
