In an effort to raise awareness about the Creative Industries - what they encompass, what are some of the challenges and opportunities, and to inspire people to be a part of these industries - Creative Community Singapore (CCS) is running an eight-part editorial series in The New Paper featuring our very own creative entrepreneurs entitled "The Turning Point".

As the name suggests, the underlying concept for each featured creative entrepreneur is that along their life journey, they each took a plunge into the Creative Industries, resulting in the significant turning point that brought about their success. Through their life stories, peppered with anecdotes of mounting obstacles, opposition from naysayer, and even past failures, these creative entrepreneurs will tell a tale of how passion, perseverance and self-belief triumphs over trials of many kinds.

The series will be published every Wednesday, with the first story on Play Imaginative making its debut last Wednesday. The next story will be published tomorrow. To heighten interest and maximise the inspirational effect of the stories, we are also running a contest called "Inspire a Friend". Upon reading these inspirational tales, readers can seek to inspire their friends by emailing CCS. We will then send their friends inspiration kits that will include collateral to encourage them to submit proposals and make their dreams come true.
