By SIGGRAPH / IO, 02 Jun 2010
SIGGRAPH 2010, held from 25-29 July, will bring approximately 25,000 computer graphics and interactive technology professionals from around the world to Los Angeles. The SIGGRAPH 2010 Advance Program is now available online, announcing session content across Art Papers, Courses, Game Papers, Panels, Talks, Technical Papers, and more.
The keynote speakers at the event include Disney/Pixar executive Jim Morris and Don Marinelli, executive producer at the Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Centre.
Under the SIGGRAPH 2010 banner is its Computer Animation Festival, which will include a new animation clinic for visitors to learn from experienced animators on creative and technical aspects of their work.
Other highlights include an art gallery, job fairs, and the ACM Student Research Competition, where students get to present their poster designs to the judges. The ACM SIGGRAPH Awards will also be presented during the event, which awards achievements in computer graphics, new research, and digital art.
“SIGGRAPH 2010 is the best place in the world to experience the ‘People Behind the Pixels’,” said Terrence Masson, SIGGRAPH 2010 Conference Chair from Northeastern University. “I highly encourage everyone to attend to meet the personalities, hear the stories, and learn the history behind the most unique and excellent content in CG and interactive techniques.”
