The updated version of the Facebook for iPhone app, released 19 June, now allows videos to be played on the phone, a feature sorely missing from previous versions.

The 3.1.3 version also lets users view and write on walls of Facebook events, as well as maximising the size of uploaded photos to 720 pixels wide.

But with Apple’s iOS4 released today, Facebook did not indicate in its release notes if its new version will be compatible with Apple’s operating system update.

Several technology blogs have reported there is no support for Facebook on iOS4. Additionally, Facebook has yet to release an app for the iPad.

TechCrunch reports, “it’s really hard to actually find any videos to view”, and that several bugs make the app disappointing.

Facebook has recently announced its video uploads have skyrocketed, partly due to mobile usage.
