Partnering with game developer Level-5, Ghibli will launch Ninokuni for the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) console next year.
The game trailer features many of the themes and styles found in traditional Ghibli animated films: hand-drawn 2D illustrations, a child protagonist and magic spells.
Ninokuni for the PS3 will be accompanied by a 352-page book, and is expected to sell for about US$75 in Japan.
There is no release date out of Japan at the time of this report.
