If locking up your bike is too much of a fuss, a young designer has come up with a brilliant solution on how you can still do so without actually using locks and chains.



Designed by industrial designer Kevin Scott, 'The Bendable Bike' ensures convenience by letting riders lock their bikes by... bending them.

It might sound ridiculous to some, but the bike's flexibility is for real; it can literally be bent around a lamp post and lock onto itself.

'The Bendable Bicycle' has also won Scott a second prize in the Business Design Centre's New Designer of the Year contest, to which the judges have awarded the 500 pounds prize to "encourage the further development of this unique and striking idea."

"I am now going to take this forward to produce a fully-resolved solution and hopefully this will be a stepping stone into a career in the bike designing industry," said the designer.
