eBay Selling iPhone App
eBay announced today the international releases of its eBay Selling application and its eBay for iPad application. The Selling application is now available in Germany and the United Kingdom, and the eBay for iPad application is now translated into French, Italian, German and Spanish for international users and is currently available through Apple’s 77 iTunes® App Stores.
Sellers in Germany and the United Kingdom will now be able to leverage eBay’s Selling iPhone application to sell items on their local eBay marketplaces. The latest version of the eBay Selling application is the first of eBay’s suite of mobile applications to integrate the accurate RedLaser barcode-scanning technology. eBay sellers in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States will now be able to quickly create listings by simply scanning an item’s barcode to access pricing trends, product details and list items from eBay’s catalog for sale.
The international launches of the eBay Selling iPhone application and the eBay for iPad application builds on eBay’s momentum in mobile commerce. In 2009, eBay generated over $600 million in GMV through its mobile platforms. eBay expects to generate over $1.5 billion in mobile GMV in 2010. Over half of eBay’s mobile GMV comes from international purchases.
