Diane von Furstenberg for ELLE
In ELLE’s charity auction for ‘Portable Light Project’, going green never looked so good. Nine top fashion designers, including Tommy Hilfiger, Rogan and Diane von Furstenberg, have each designed a bag that comes affixed with a solar panel.

Each bag is also outfitted with a rechargeable battery pack and a USB port. There’s also a HBLED light somewhere in there, so fumbling for your keys at night is a considerably easier task.
This environmentally-friendly fashion statement was the brainchild of Sheila Kennedy, the director of the ‘Portable Light Project’, who came up with the solar-powered bags last September.

All nine bags are up on eBay till 15 July, with proceeds going to Kennedy’s initiative which aims to bring electricity to developing communities.
