Apple: iPhone Causing Reception Problems? Have a Free Case

It seems the great Apple isn’t so great after all. At the surprise iPhone 4 press conference last Friday, CEO Steve Jobs himself admitted “we’re not perfect”.

In response to the nagging iPhone 4 reception problems—dubbed ‘Antennagate’ by the Cupertino company—Jobs promised every iPhone 4 user a free case or bumper. The padding provided by these bumpers will reportedly solve the signal dropouts on the device.

Further details on how users can get these freebies are expected to be released by Apple soon.

And if the free case solution just doesn’t cut it, the Apple boss is giving everyone the chance to fully refund their iPhones within the first 30 days after purchase.

But Jobs defiantly stood by his product, making it a point to stress that the iPhone 4 is the “number one smartphone” and that all smartphones suffer the same antenna woes.

“This is life in the smartphone world,” Jobs said at the conference. “Phones aren’t perfect. Almost every smartphone we tested behaved like this.”

People are still lapping up the latest Apple product. Jobs used the conference to announce that the iPhone 4 has sold three million units just three weeks since its launch.
