A Flickr member has done something the photo-hosting website should’ve done ages ago: construct a heat-map of the world using geotagged photos.
Eric Fischer has trawled Flickr for photos with geo-data and ‘drawn’ a map using the data as pixels.
The result is something of a cartographical wonder. At one glance, it’s pretty obvious that the British are the kings of the geo-tagging hill; in fact, Europe trumps the US in this regard.
Each pixel in the original-sized map (a whopping 8192x4800) is approximately 5 square miles, and are colored according to the photo upload date.
