Just as its name suggests, the two-legged table manages to stay upright by having the two legs 'work together'. Each leg supports and balances the other while carrying the table surface in some symbiotic design relationship.
The joint between the tabletop and legs have an increased contact area—the designers decided to use "additional matter that rises above the surface" to lend added support.
