These aren’t the kitschy little ceramic figurines you’d find on your grandmother’s mantelpiece.
British artist Jessica Harrison has taken all the sweetness out of those knick-knacks and replaced it with some horror show goodness, gore and all.
So next to the pretty Victorian dresses and serene facial expressions, you have skulls, bare intestines and lots and lots of blood. The figurines can be pretty disturbing, so unless your grandmother has a penchant for the morbid, we wouldn’t recommend this as a gift.
