Where’s Your Secret Stash?

Everyone has a secret hiding place somewhere to hide cash, valuables or the occasional illegal substance. Often, however, they’re not really good hiding spots. If you’re one of those with poor hiding skills, this new design project might be of interest to you.

Taiwanese design student Yi-Ting Cheng’s ‘Secret Stash’ project comprises a couple of everyday items that house special compartments invisible to the naked eye.

For example, a perfectly usable glass has within it a tiny storage space, and a regular-looking lamp, when its shade is taken off, reveals a holder for you to clip cash notes to. Cheng even uses a world map poster to hide notes and identification cards.

The best part about this project is that all these items are still functional, only a slight modification allows for that magical space to be hidden within.

So make like a secret agent and stash those objects in (almost) plain sight. After all, the closer you are to danger, the further you are from harm.
