A playful contemporary reinterpretation of Dante's Divine Comedy, Meloni's The Branding Comedy features some brands as the seven deadly sins: Visa as ‘Covetous’, Facebook as ‘Slothful’ and McDonald's as ‘Gluttonous’.
The digital booklet also takes the brands’ market standing into consideration. Pepsi has been categorized as ‘Envious’ in the Purgatory while Coca-Cola resides in Paradise as the ‘Angels’.
Meloni also pokes fun of the zealousness of Mac fans; a tattoo of the Apple logo faces the ‘Warriors of the Faith’ page, and she describes the Macworld conference to be akin to a “religious revival meeting, where Steve Jobs is worshiped like a charismatic cult leader”.
