Body wash in handpump bottles have come to replace soap bars, with hygiene being the top reason for the switch. But a Dutch designer wants a return to the good ol’ soap bar.
According to Dave Hakkens, those handpump soaps contain too many chemicals, and in response, he created ‘Breaksoap’.
The block of soap is divided by a grid—and who doesn’t like grids?—that can be broken off in individual bars. So instead of grabbing the whole piece and slathering it all over, just take a small piece, leaving the rest of the block untouched.
“I wanted to give natural hand soap the same features [as the handpump variety] so we could use the traditional soap again,” explained the designer.
