Putting a Smile on London’s Face

A UK street art collective, Wasted Spaces, is trying to rid London of its stereotypical gray-and-gloom image.

The collective, whose goals are to “reactivate disused buildings and bring them back to life”, have painted smiles on said buildings in London’s Wembley neighborhood. Balloons with smiley faces drawn on them have also been clandestinely planted on public areas.

These temporary “interventions”—as the collective likes to term them—will continue throughout the year, and is set to expand throughout the busy UK capital.
