Artist Exposes iPhone Insides, Not What You’d Expect

The moment hyped-up gadgets hit the shelves, you can expect a whole host of tech blogs taking them apart, dissecting their cogs and electronics the way a forensic scientist would a corpse.

But a Danish artist has taken this tech geekery and put his own spin on device anatomy.

Instead of showing microchips and wires, Madspeitersen’s illustrations have organs and guts lurking inside the gadgets. Look closely and you’ll see the iPhone’s intestines, ribcage and lungs.

Sometimes, we treat our technological devices a little too much like actual living things, and these illustrations comment on this (unhealthy?) habit. But either way, Madspeitersen’s work is a creative way of looking at our everyday technologies—we think they’d make for excellent ads.
