Image Cube: Roll to Navigate

The CubeBrowser is billed as a brand new way to navigate images and all that data browsing jazz but when it comes down to it, the cube just looks great.

The cube’s six sides each have a digital screen that connects to online databases like Flickr to display images. When rotated, the cube ‘navigates’ to different images or photo-tags, depending on its physical axes and direction.

For now, only two modes of browsing are enabled: turning the cube sideways changes images within the same category, and moving it up or down changes the photo-tag. It’s a bit like a navigational connect-the-dots—only related tags and images will be displayed.

The screen is quite small, though; but the idea’s novel enough to spend hours endlessly rolling down the bottomless pit that is Flickr.
