Lady Gaga has just crossed the 5.7 million follower mark on Twitter, stealing the crown from Britney Spears after a neck-and-neck race.
Adorned with Twitter symbols, the pop superstar thanked her fans in an online video (above), starting with the words: “Hello world, this is Lady Gaga, queen of Twitter.”
But while she might have the most followers, it seems another pop singer is the most closely watched, appearing on the most number of Twitter Lists: Justin Bieber.
The teen heartthrob appears on more than 264,000 lists, more than double Lady Gaga’s 107,000, who comes in second.
President Obama is third in the Twitter Lists rankings, with other celebrities Taylor Swift and Ellen DeGeneres also featuring in the top 10.
