The old collaborative art format, ‘exquisite corpse’, is getting updated for the web. The British agency Albion created ‘Draw and Fold Over’ as an online platform where you can ‘play’ with your friends to collaborate on a single image.
The project is part of The Big Draw 2010, a UK campaign to encourage people to unleash their inner illustrator or artist.
To start off, users draw a head at the top of the digital paper—there’s a whole load of pens and markers to choose from—and send the image over to their friends for them to complete it.
The kicker: illustrators of each section won’t be able to see the other parts, making for a completely random final work.
Visitors to the site can rank each completed artwork for its “randomness”, “stylishness”, “attention to detail”, and “comedy value”, making this project a mini-competition for bragging rights.
