Google Launches Standalone Realtime Search Page, Builds on Social Features

Google’s realtime search engine might have been launched last year, but it’s only just recently that it has its own home. And tracking social media conversations are a lot more refined in this update.

There’s a new ‘conversations view’ that makes it easy to “follow a discussion on the realtime web”, wrote Google product manager Dylan Casey in a blog post.

He explained, “Often, a single tweet sparks a larger conversation of retweets and other replies, but to put it together you have to click through a bunch of links and figure it out yourself.

“With the new ‘full conversation’ feature, you can browse the entire conversation in a single glance. We organize tweets from oldest to newest and indent so you quickly se how the conversation developed.”

Try the standalone site here.
