Apple might think the CD in the old iTunes logo needed a refresh—after all, who buys CDs these days—and removed it altogether. But you’re not happy. You think you can do better.
A designer, Joshua Kopac, even sent Steve Jobs an email about this: “This new iTunes logo really sucks. You’re taking 10+ years of instant product recognition and replacing it with an unknown.”
Jobs’ terse reply? “We disagree.”
The beleaguered icon has now spawned its own Twitter account and loads of suggestions over at design collaboration site Dribbble.
Well, TechCrunch is now inviting anyone to send in their own versions of the iTunes icon. It’s not a ‘competition’ by any stretch, but notable designs will be featured over at TechCrunch. Here are some of the better designs so far:
