Following its wonderfully simple infographic on the safest city in the world for pedestrians, Good magazine created this animated one on the best North American city for biking.
In collaboration with Chris Korbey and Dorian Orange, Good compiled a list of which city in the continent had the most number of bike commuters. The winner? Portland with 3.9% of bicycle commuters, barely edging out Minneapolis by 0.1%.
The other cities on the list, in order, are: Vancouver, San Fransisco, Toronto, Washington DC, Chicago and New York.
While Portland might be gloating on its victory, it’s important to take note the list only includes North American cities. In this regard, the Europeans trump the rest. Copenhagen and Amsterdam both boast an upward of 30% of its citizens being bike commuters.
