Infographic: Facebook, iPhone and Android Apps Battle it Out

There’s been so much speculation in the media over how using apps will surpass traditional internet browsing; so All Facebook has just designed an infographic that charts the three biggest app platforms currently out: Facebook, iOS and Android.

So far, Facebook still rules the app roost. The social networking site has 550,000 apps, compared to iOS’s 250,000 and Android’s 120,000. But when number of users are taking into account, it looks like Android has a higher app-to-user ratio than the other three.

Android apps are also the most expensive, coming in at almost US$3 per app, while Facebook apps are all free. And while there are over a million Facebook app developers, Android has only a measly 10,000 or so.

As All Facebook points out, “mobile devices are much more app intensive”, so it should be mobile devices that developers should head on to, not Facebook.
