Computers Now Can Write Stories For You

Don't tell the editorial team, but computers can write, too. Like the Roald Dahl short story The Great Automatic Grammatizator, this new experiment from Google Labs generates stories automatically. Well, not quite.

Google Scribe, as it's called, completes words as you type them. Once you've typed in a letter, the app will list suggested words or phrases beginning with the letter. Coming off from Google Labs, Scribe isn't fully-functional yet—quite honestly, it slows you down.

But if anything, the experiment does spark off those ‘what if’ thoughts—at least it’s closer to Dahl’s dystopia than he ever got.
