The Essence of an Author…Contained in a Perfume Bottle
If these authors’ books are anything to go by, any perfume of this 'Scent Stories' range would be the last scent you would ever consider wearing.
These bottles are inspired by literary personalities: Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, George Orwell, Edgar Allan Poe and Marquis de Sade.
The series of perfume bottles designed by Polish design firm Ah & Oh Studio is meant to invoke “the dark sides of men's nature”, the firm said, reflecting the style of the authors’ pen—Poe, for instance, figured heavily in American Gothic fiction in the 19th century, and Orwell was the brain behind the dystopic 1984.
While these bottles are quite well-designed—the boxes resemble inkwells, but with an attached black, totemic figurehead—we think they’d be better on the shelf than sprayed on your neck. Probably was for the best that these are concept-only designs.
