In celebration of Paul Rand’s posthumous induction into The One Club Hall of Fame, the folks at Imaginary Forces created this animated short film succinctly capturing the designer’s contribution to the creative community.
The short splices original animation of Rand’s iconic designs—like the IBM and UPS logos—together with a previous video interview with the designer.
Some choice quips:
“Don’t try to be original. Just try to be good.”
“How perfectly you do something, it can still be improved.”
“The vocabulary or language of art or aesthetics: order, variety, contrast, symmetry, tension, balance, scale, texture, space, shape, light, shade and color.”
“It’s all art.”
