Peter Saville Gives Factory Records Founder Fitting Tribute
Antony Wilson, the founder of legendary Manchester recording label Factory Records, has been given a fitting tribute by friends and collaborators Peter Saville and Ben Kelly, reports Creative Review.
The tribute comes in the form of a black granite memorial headstone, sparsely set in type (Rotis, according to Creative Review). And it’s wonderfully executed: the headstone reflects the dark aesthetic of Wilson’s label, which counts bands like Joy Division and The Durutti Column in its roster.
Wilson passed away in 2007, making this tribute three years late; but it's better late than never.
