Perhaps as an indication of the booming Kindle market, magazine and newspaper publishers can now earn a larger share of the revenue from the Kindle titles that they sell on Amazon’s eBook store.
Publishers will now be able to earn 70% of the retail price for each magazine or newspaper sold, starting from 1 December 2010. Previously, publishers earned 30% in royalties.
“We are constantly working at improving the Kindle magazine and newspaper experience for both customers and publishers," said Peter Larsen, Director of Kindle Periodicals.
The beta release of the Kindle Publishing for Periodicals tool was also launched for publishers so they can add their magazine or newspapers to the Kindle store with greater ease.
