Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Dali Get Lego-fied
In what could be read as a comment on the value of art and the artists that create them, British duo Cake & Neave transformed the conceptual artists Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons, and surrealist legend Salvador Dali into Lego sculptures.
Hirst is depicted with his infamous shark-in-a-tank installation (The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living), Koons with his basketballs one, and Dali with his Lobster Telephone oddity.
Cake & Neave said their work attempts to understand the “significance of contemporary art and the consumerist culture in which it is produced”, and the use of Lego blocks as a medium explores the idea of “artist as a brand-name”.
